Rima Patel, MD, is a board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist and retina specialist. Dr. Patel’s expertise includes treating diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, vascular disease of the retina, and inflammatory conditions of the eye. She is skilled at performing cataract surgery.

Dr. Patel received her undergraduate degree with Summa Cum Laude from the University of Arizona. Dr. Patel obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. She completed her training in ophthalmology at Loyola University Medical Center and the Hines VA Medical Center, followed by a medical retina fellowship at the prestigious USC Roski Eye Institute.

Dr. Patel is a Phoenix native with a mission to deliver excellence through evidence-based care with compassionate service being her priority. Dr. Patel completed a medical mission with Humanity First USA’s Gift of Sight where she performed surgeries to Guatemalans in need. Her passion to give back to communities is honorable. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, and traveling.
