Debora E. Garcia-Zalisnak, MD, is a board certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and Cornea Specialist.  She is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, where she received the honor of Summa Cum Laude.  Dr. Garcia-Zalisnak completed her Ophthalmology training at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia where she served her last year as Chief Resident.  She then pursued a fellowship in cornea and external diseases of the eye at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Garcia-Zalisnak specializes in treating diseases of the cornea and in performing cataract surgery.  This includes diseases such as dry eye, keratoconus, and corneal scarring, as well as performing routine and complex cataract surgery and corneal transplants.

Dr. Garcia-Zalisnak is originally from Puerto Rico and is fluent in English and Spanish.  While completing medical school, she passed her medical boards and placed in the top 1% in the nation. She was also chosen for the prestigious honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Garcia-Zalisnak will always advocate for her patients and in her spare time enjoys spending time in the outdoors with her husband and their two dogs.
