Dr. Matthew Welch received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine and then completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology. From 2010 to 2011, he was Chief Resident at Loyola University & V.A. Hospital. He went on to a Fellowship in Vitreo-Retinal Disease and Surgery at Associated Retina Consultants, Phoenix, Arizona and in Intraocular Tumor Disease and Surgery at Retina Specialists of Southern Arizona, Tucson, Arizona.
Dr. Welch is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Arizona. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, American Medical Association (AMA), Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO), the Arizona Ophthalmology Society, the Phoenix Ophthalmological Society, the Tucson Ophthalmologic Society, and the Pima County Medical Society.
Dr. Welch enjoys cycling, hiking, running, and spending time with his family.
